MANDATORY REQUIREMENT TO ATTEST IMPORT BILLS BY MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Correction on the highlighted below
In line with cabinet resolution (38) for the year 2022, pertaining to the Attestation of Commercial invoices of value AED10,000 and above for imports of goods into the UAE that went into effect on 1st February 2023, we would like to kindly remind all importers that failure to comply with the above-mentioned cabinet resolution will result in a fine of AED500 being issued to the consignee for each unattested invoice.
As of the 15th of September 2023 any imports into the UAE that do not have a corresponding attested invoice by the Ministry of ForeignAffairs ,U.A.E will face a AED500 fine for each invoice that has not been attested. This includes any imports between the 1st of February 2023– to date.
We urge all clients to ensure that all necessary invoices are attested and linked accordingly. Linking attested invoices to customs declaration through the EDAS portal will ensure that no fines or penalties are imposed. We also strongly recommend that all clients attend our daily training sessions for support in linking any unlinked invoices.
The training program will be provided in two daily virtual sessions as per the below:
